An innovative program  to provide training regarding early childhood dental concerns is being provided to  individuals involved in a child’s early life with funding from the Kentucky Governor’s Office of Early Childhood  in partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles Health Care Institute and the Kentucky Oral Health Coalition.  What makes this program both innovative and logical is that  the training will be for  childhood professionals such as day care providers and caregivers, rather than only  parents, regarding the importance of children’s oral health.   When all adults in a child’s care circle are supporting the same messages regarding health oral habits, it is anticipated that children will start optimal oral hygiene habits early in life and carry these through a lifetime. This fine example of collaboration will have capacity to train early childhood professionals in 10 communities.
